Hello Parent Bloggers!
I am hoping that everyone received the E-News notifying parents that the parent meeting scheduled for Monday, October 27th has been cancelled. The next available evening to reschedule is Monday, December 22nd.
This week was our fundraiser pick up. I truly appreciate the efforts on the part of our families to support our fundraising efforts. With the money raised, we are able to provide many, many more enriching experiences and resources for the classroom.
Next week is Halloween. Please remember that costumes are not appropriate for school. It will be exciting enough as it is!

Welcome to Westwood Middle School
My name is Paula Hoff and I am proud to say that I am the principal at Westwood Middle School. There are many fabulous elements to our school but the one that I am most proud of are the people who come here everyday - our students and staff.
We are a team based middle school that is committed to servicing the full range of needs of our students. Our core content teams meet through the week with a grade level counselor and administrator to discuss ways to achieve greater success for all. Our teachers also meet with their Professional Learning Community member (PLC) to discuss instruction and assessment on how to increase academic achievement. Through these two measures, our commitment to the success of each learner is achieved.
We strive to offer a variety of elective type classes to assist in developing the "whole" child. Students are scheduled for physical education and health classes that strive to teach lifelong fitness and health education. Each student also has the opportunity to take a music class of their choice. A variety of art, technology and FACS classes are also available. The teachers in these areas are truly masters of their content and provide an education that is second to none.
