This is my first attempt at a blog! I hope that as time goes on, we find that this becomes another valuable method of communication. Please check weekly for updates. Our monthly newsletter is going in the mail this week. Enclosed you will find information regarding professional development that is occurring on the student release days this week as well as information for next week's conferences. Watch for it in the mail!

Welcome to Westwood Middle School
My name is Paula Hoff and I am proud to say that I am the principal at Westwood Middle School. There are many fabulous elements to our school but the one that I am most proud of are the people who come here everyday - our students and staff.
We are a team based middle school that is committed to servicing the full range of needs of our students. Our core content teams meet through the week with a grade level counselor and administrator to discuss ways to achieve greater success for all. Our teachers also meet with their Professional Learning Community member (PLC) to discuss instruction and assessment on how to increase academic achievement. Through these two measures, our commitment to the success of each learner is achieved.
We strive to offer a variety of elective type classes to assist in developing the "whole" child. Students are scheduled for physical education and health classes that strive to teach lifelong fitness and health education. Each student also has the opportunity to take a music class of their choice. A variety of art, technology and FACS classes are also available. The teachers in these areas are truly masters of their content and provide an education that is second to none.
